Like many who have stumbled across this site, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the political and economic situation our country finds itself in. The statement (as Rush Limbaugh often says) “ignorance is our most expensive commodity” rings truer by the day, as we have apparently elected a President and Congress that are hell bent on destroying the liberty, freedom, and wealth of this nation – and thus the concept we all know as America. I’ll be painfully honest here. I’ve spent far too much time the past few months worrying about stuff I never in a million years thought I’d worry about – like whether or not (what’s left of) my 401K will eventually be confiscated because I’ll be considered “rich”, or if my father actually realizes the sheer threat posed to his ability to get decent (or any) medical treatment in the future should his cancer re-emerge. I also wonder if my little genius niece will ever live comfortably given that President B.O. has dumped a 9 Trillion dollar roadblock in her path to success. Or how in the hell can the America I grew up in pass tax laws to target INDIVIDUAL Americans? I don’t know…maybe I think too much. Eventually, though, I decided to refuse to succumb to the fear mongering and scare tactics designed to make us all malleable.
Knowing that this kind of deep thought breeds life-shortening stress, I decided that I really needed to disconnect for a while. So, my wife and I hopped into our car and drove a few hundred miles to a nice, calming place. Somewhere along the way, I realized that the biggest source of my frustration was the fact that nobody appears to care that the eggheads are turning this country into a socialist hellhole. Of course my lovely wife cares – she has a brilliant mind with conservative leanings. Yeah, my co-workers care, but they are all well educated, and already pay enough in taxes. But why do I constantly run into these ignoramuses (who’ve never planned to achieve anything in their lives) who hang on every delicious word of doublespeak that comes out of Obama’s mouth. Better yet… Why do the people who taught me everything I ever knew about personal responsibility and hard work simply refuse to acknowledge the sheer audacity of his lies when presented with the truth? While on the trip, I ran across a quick news clip discussing the increasing frequency of “tea parties” – grassroots protests organized by people who were just as fed up with this racket as I am. People do care. In fact, they care enough to gather by the thousands to evoke symbolism from this country’s founding days. Then it hit me. I am part of a ‘silenced’ majority. I am a member of an extremely large group of Americans who lament the way that this country has been nudged to the left with each successor to Ronald Reagan, and just flat-out shoved into tyranny by Barack Obama. I realized that if I have something to say, then I have a responsibility to shout it from the highest mountain I can. I’m not interested in engaging with the unwashed masses that would rather have their needs provided for than have the freedom to live up to their abilities. I’m writing this with the hope that it reaches someone else who doesn’t recognize the country they grew up in. I want them to know that they are not alone, and others will be voting with them in 2010 and 2012. I can thank none other than Barack Obama himself for ushering me into my newfound concerned “citizenhood”. If it weren’t for his thuggish attacks on the way most Americans live and feed their families, I probably wouldn’t bother sharing my thoughts in such a public manner. So, thanks Mr. Obama. Thank you for playing the politics of racial identity to perpetuate the divide this nation is slowly healing itself from. I am a real black American who can easily spot a fake, and you’re a fake. You used your “black” racial identity in Chicago to organize the ‘downtrodden masses’ against the ‘white man’ for your own political gain. All you ever did for them was relocate an unemployment office to the South Side, which had the intended effect of continuing their dependence on the system you taught them to resent. You gave little and took a lot. You should be a shameful sight to proud black Americans – but somehow you escape criticism. Thank you for nominating a cabal of tax cheats and partisan hacks to run the highest levels of our government. You’ve taught me that you don’t practice what you preach, and when you talk about “restoring the wealth of this nation to its rightful owners”… you really mean yourself. You go on and on about how us “rich people” who make more than 95% of Americans are expected to contribute to this nation’s health, yet your truly wealthy democrat buddies get rewarded for absconding with more delinquent tax dollars than my yearly salary. Thank you for making a diversion out of the retention bonuses paid to AIG employees. These are the very same employees who are long time democrats, and gave you more than $100,000 in campaign donations during your tenure in the senate. You’ve clearly shown that you have no loyalties to the people that make you who you are. If you’ll throw them under the bus for a simple diversion, then you clearly have no regard for any other American citizen. Thank you for your absurd treatment of foreign leaders who actually respect America’s promise and place in the world. You gave a thoughtless gift of DVD’s that didn’t even work to Gordon Brown, and you penned a letter to Nicolas Sarkozy’s predecessor stating your intent to work with the nation that he no longer commands. You have provided all who care to admit with ample evidence that you are either a functional retard, a very sinister man, or simply incompetent. I’d also like to thank you for underestimating the millions of Americans who fact-check every speech you make. We’ve got access to Google, you know. You’re not so charismatic that we’ll hang on your every word. And you know what? We’re getting sick of being lied to while getting sent the bill for your excursions into socialism. The beltway media may fawn all over you, but your shtick doesn’t play well in Tucson. Mr. Obama, I respect the fact that you were elected to the office of President of the United States, but I want you to fail. I want you to fail at your agenda to socialize this great nation of ours so that average Americans can no longer become runaway successes. I want you to fail at making a mockery of this office to our friends and our enemies. Most importantly, I want you to fail at ensuring that a real black man worthy of the office of President can never get elected because of your antics. Lastly, I’d like to thank you, Mr. Obama, for being an inspiration to me. You’ve personally motivated me to protest your expansion of government in every legal manner I can think of. I will be encouraging every like-minded person I can reach to donate to a worthy cause, call his or her congressperson, and to change the makeup of the House in 2010. Oh, and join a taxpayer tea party. And you know what? They’ll have more company than you’d ever care to admit.
